Director, Design, and Construction
I'm a professor in the Biochemistry Department at CSU. I first dreamed of the Shadow Scope project in 2013. Happy to be leading this team! Fun fact: I created the Silhoettes with my kids.
Assistant Director, consulting
I design hands-on scientific research experiences for families and secondary school students through CSU's Natural Sciences Education and Outreach Center.
Educational materials & outreach
I work on developing educational materials and coordinating outreach events for the Shadow Scope project. I love climbing Colorado's 14ers, I have climbed 38 of them so far and have more planned for this summer!
Design & Construction
I help to design, custom cut using a CNC machine, and build the shadow scope. Fun fact- I love hiking and backpacking, I've been on a 2 1/2-week backpacking trip in New Mexico and plan to do the Colorado Trail in one trip before graduating.
Design & Construction
I do most of my work for the Shadow Scope behind the scenes, whether I'm writing the code it runs on or making 3D-printed parts to hold it together. I've been travelling for most of my life and have been to over 20 countries, though the bucket list keeps growing.
Website Design & Development
I'm the website developer for the Shadow Scope project. When I'm not working on the Shadow Scope website, I spend time with my lovely wife, my firecracker of a 6 yr. old son, and my trumpet.
Design & Construction
I help with cutting and 3D printing Shadow Scope pieces, as well as assembling them into the final product. I also join the team on outreach events to teach kids about the microbiological world. Fun facts: I love to be in the mountains skiing, hiking, biking, or just hanging out. I also produce music for fun!
